“Even though I have been in the Tahoe area for 5 + years, I didn’t really feel like I was a part of the community until I completed the program in 2008. The North Lake Tahoe-Truckee Leadership program and the contacts I made in class helped me learn how I could help make a difference in area of need for the region and local non-profits.“
– Maria Kiss, Alumni Program President, Class of 2008
In 2010, the North Lake Tahoe-Truckee Leadership Program partnered with Sierra Nevada College (SNC) for facilitation of the program. Sessions are led by Shannon Beets. In her capacity as the Vice President/Provost of the college, Beets participated in the design and launch of a new Master’s of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Advanced Teaching and Leadership for the Teacher Education Department. Joining Beets will be several of professors from SNC to lead individual workshops throughout the course of the five-month leadership program, bringing multiple levels of leadership styles and knowledge to the program.

The North Tahoe Business Association (NTBA) was founded in 1979 by business and community leaders responding to a need to represent the local business community and promote the North Shore as a vibrant community.
To welcome opportunity, one has merely to recognize its request to enter. Invited, as it were, through referrals, marketing efforts, information distribution, resource management, and the support of a dedicated community and business sales representative — the Truckee Chamber of Commerce.
We introduce local business to opportunity, and then help them to remain on a first-name basis. And we enjoy a solid reputation for what we do for one very simple reason. It works.
